Episode 81: Bowl and Doily Spiders and Spooky Salamanders

 

Among the web-weaving spiders, bowl and doily spiders really stand out thanks to the intricate creations they produce. Daniel describes the webs of these spiders and explains why they look the way they do.

On that spooky subject, Sierra has some salamanders to tell us about. The Idaho giant salamander and an introduced newt defend themselves by exuding toxins from their skin. So, follow Sierra’s advice – don’t swallow that newt!
