Episode 4: Phenology Report for March 2018

The first episode of each month we will be giving you a phenology report – a quick update on some of the things we have seen happening outside recently. In this episode we explain what phenology is and why scientists study it. We also encourage you to make your own phenological observations. As a citizen scientist, you can submit your observations to websites like Nature’s Notebook and Project Budburst.

In this episode, Casey shares some observations, including some spring bulbs she saw coming up and a honey bee drinking some water from a dripping hose.

Reticulated iris (Iris reticulata) is blooming now.
