This week we’re talking about native bees. Many of our native bees nest in the ground, and the majority of these ground nesting bees are solitary, meaning they don’t live in colonies like honey bees. Daniel talks about where ground nesting bees are found and how and why we should protect them.

Casey introduces us to bumble bees, a diverse group of semi-social bees that are also known to nest in the ground. They have an interesting life cycle. Spoiler Alert: only one will survive.
