Episode 31: Drama in the Insect World

Stuff is getting gruesome in the insect world this time of year. As winter approaches, the lives of many insects are coming to an end. Others are preparing to hunker down. Some insects, like cluster flies, overwinter as eggs in the soil. But wait until you hear what happens next. Earthworms beware.

Speaking of fear and trembling in the insect world. Insects that feed on the pollen and nectar of flowers better be on the lookout. Crab spiders, many of which live in flowers, may be lurking. Daniel explains how crab spiders disguise themselves and take down their prey.
