Episode 66: Lettuce and Sundews

 

Lettuce, like so much of the food we eat, has a crop wild relative. Lettuce’s relative happens to be the common weed, prickly lettuce. Casey has some interesting things to say about prickly lettuce. She even pulls out her copy of Sacred and Herbal Healing Beers for this one.

Whether you’re interested in plants or not, surely you can’t help but be intrigued by carnivorous plants. There are hundreds of species of carnivorous plants found around the world, a few of which are native to Idaho. Over the next three episodes, Daniel will introduce you to Idaho’s carnivorous plants. In this episode, meet the sundews.
