This time of year we all enjoy watching our favorite holiday movies and TV shows, classics like Futurama’s Holiday Spectacular. Daniel sums up this important episode of Futurama, which teaches us a vital lesson: preserve our botanical heritage or the planet might explode.
Of course, if the planet does explode, we can be sure that at least one organism will survive – the tardigrade. Call them what you will – water bears, moss piglets – tardigrades are among the toughest creatures out there. Casey counts the ways in which tardigrades defy death, surviving everything from numerous mass extinctions to the vacuum of space.
