Episode 25: Alternate Photosynthetic Pathways and Corn Facts


Plants that are adapted to live in hot, dry conditions use a number of strategies to survive. Some of these plants have photosynthetic pathways that are different from the conventional one. Daniel gives a brief explanation about how these alternate photosynthetic pathways work and how they help plants tolerate drought.

You might find corn to be a fairly boring plant if your familiarity with it is limited to corn mazes, corn on the cob, and high fructose corn syrup. If so, allow Casey to expand your mind. Corn truly is a fascinating plant.
